At Mimbres Moriana we are dedicated to the cultivation, production and commercialization of Wicker. Cultivated in the province of Cuenca (Castilla La Mancha), our wicker enjoys unique characteristics that make it a high quality product.
Year after year we continue to offer our artisan customers the best wicker to delight the final consumer with an article that becomes art.
For more than 60 years, my grandfather had already established wicker plantations working as manager of a company of more than a hundred workers dedicated to the cutting and debarking of wicker in a completely manual and rudimentary.

Wicker is a vegetable fiber that is obtained from a bush of the willow family and that is woven to create furniture, baskets and other useful objects. In the fabric, the stem and the branches of the plant are used, either in full thickness for the frame or in slices cut longitudinally for the tissue itself.
From the Middle Ages until the 18th century, skill in wickerwork was maintained. At the beginning of the twentieth century, cultivation again developed strongly throughout Europe. At present there are very few countries dedicated to the cultivation of wicker and the manufacture of baskets and furniture of this fiber.
Often a frame of firmer materials is made, then a more flexible material is used to fill the frame. The wicker is light but robust, making it an ideal and inexpensive option for furniture that will be moved often. It is usually used in the realization of baskets, patio furniture, etc …
